Living and leading from a place of victory.

(By Tommy Stewart, Founder of Christians Who Lead)

How we live and lead will be determined by where we lead from. If we live and lead with a defeatist mindset then we are not likely to lead too many too far. Therefore, as Christians who lead we need to be able to do so each day from a place of victory; the victory that has already been won for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

In this article I set out 7 things that set those who live and lead from a place of victory apart from others in their workplace, community and nation. Within each I provide three further thoughts.

  1. Start each day knowing they are a winner.

  2. How you start the day often determines how your day goes.

  3. A positive start to the day empowers you to see the challenges of the day as opportunities.

  4. Starting the day knowing you are a winner enables you to live and lead with a sense of deep inner peace.

2. Those who live and lead from a place of victory know that their victory comes through their relationship with Jesus

  1. If Jesus is the source of our victory, then our relationship with Jesus should be central to all we do.

  2. When we know our victory is centred on Jesus, we avoid the trap of being self-centred.

  3. The longer we live and lead the deeper our relationship with Jesus should become.

  4. Those who live and lead from a place of victory make decisions based on their faith in God.

  5. When we look at circumstances our decisions will be dictated by our circumstances. When we look to God our decisions will be based on our faith in Him.

  6. Decisions made from a place of victory are made with the confidence of having seen God bring us victory so many times before.

  7. Decisions made from a place of victory are decisions that would not be possible if made from a place of defeat.

  8. Those who live and lead from a place of victory seek to advance their vision further each day.

  9. The size of our vision will be determined by our understanding of the victory that has already been won.

  10. When we already know we are on the victory side we will be encouraged to take fresh steps of faith each day.

  11. Having seen the victories of today we will be encouraged to push forward, knowing that through God, we can walk in victory tomorrow.

  12. Those who live and lead from a place of victory know that the favour of God goes before then.

  13. The favour of God flows when we live and lead through the lens of faith.

  14. Every time you experience God’s favour it gives you fresh confidence.

  15. God’s favour will give you victory in places where others cannot even dare to go.

  16. Those who live and lead from a place of victory encourage, equip and empower others to achieve more

  17. When we live and lead from a place of victory, we are more likely to encourage, equip and empower others.

  18. When we live and lead from a place of victory, we will not be concerned about others doing better than we are.

  19. When we live and lead from a place of victory, we will be more likely to encourage others and less likely to ‘use’ others to get our own way.

  20. Those who live and lead from a place of victory succeed where other fail.

  21. Through the victory Jesus has won we can succeed despite the negative words others may have spoken over us.

  22. Through the victory that Jesus has won we can have a mindset of success.

  23. Through the victory that Jesus has won we can live a life that experiences success, even in the most challenging of conditions.
